If you run an e-commerce website, you want to get as many people to go to your website as possible. Not only that but you also want them to convert and turn into your customers.
Although that is the first mission of online entrepreneurs, they have to think about making sure that these new customers actually go back for more.
Today, I am going to talk about some ways you can keep customers coming back to your online store.
1. Upload High-Quality Images of Your Products
This should be a no-brainer, but unfortunately, there are still some people that run e-commerce websites that do not do this.
If people do not see any product images, then they will not only not buy from you but they will also leave your website and likely will never return.
Uploading high-quality images is a necessity, especially since your online customers will have no means to examine the product by themselves.
Provide as many images from multiple angles as possible. And oh, allow your consumers to zoom in on them as well.
2. Make Your Security Certificates Prominent
Most e-commerce websites have their customers sign up to their website before they can purchase. This is so that they will know their contact and payment information, among other important data.
Before you can convince people to do so, you have to make sure that your website is secure. For instance, acquiring an SSL certificate is necessary and that locked icon at the left side of your URL should be turned on as well.
3. Think About Keeping Your Shipping Costs Low
Even though you may have a lot of amazing products on hand, people will still abandon their carts and not make the purchase if they find that you charge a hefty shipping cost.
This is because Amazon made it known to the world that they offer free shipping and may online entrepreneurs are following the same.
Although I am not forcing you to provide such, you should think about keeping your shipping costs as low as possible. According to reports, people will most likely abandon their shopping carts if they find that they have to pay more than $5 for shipping.
4. No-Frills Return Policy
Look, even if your products are shipping in pristine condition, there might be times where there was a problem during transport that destroyed your product in some way. You can look at different reviews and some people might even report that they received damaged products from the get-go.
This should be accounted for by your business. In order to entice people to come back to your online shop, provide your customers with a no-frills and no questions asked return policy. Doing so will put you in good terms with your existing and new customer base.
5. Provide Several Payment Options
As an online business owner, you should know that people use a variety of different payment options. Some would prefer using their credit cards, while some prefer using payment gateways such as Paypal or Apple Pay (among others).
Providing your customers with a lot of different payment options would instill to them that you actually care about them and that this gives them the convenience to shop.
6. Study Your Competition
Of course, healthy competition is actually great for both your business and your customers. Find out what your competitors are doing and provide a much better service.
For instance, if they offer free shipping once the customers have reached a certain price threshold, then you could probably add a free item into the mix on top of the free shipping as well.
